Sensex up 174pts; Bajaj, Hero Honda weak

The Sensex is now up 174 points at 13,970.

SBI has soared 4.5% to Rs 1,202. HLL has surged 3% to Rs 191.

Tata Steel has advanced 2.4% to Rs 583, and Cipla has added 2.2% to Rs 210.

Gujarat Ambuja, ONGC and BHEL have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 122, Rs 904 and Rs 2,475, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications and HDFC are up 1.8% each to Rs 864, Rs 486 and Rs 1,686, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has plunged 3.7% to Rs 658. Bajaj Auto has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 2,668, and Hero Honda has dropped 1.5% to Rs 694.

Out of 2,230 stocks traded so far, 1,572 have advanced, 590 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
