Sensex up 174pts; HDFC soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 174 points at 12,527.

HDFC has soared 4% to Rs 1,497.

TCS has advanced 3.3% to Rs 1,080. Wipro has surged nearly 3% to Rs 544. Infosys has rallied 2% to Rs 2,020.

Bajaj Auto has gained 2.6% at Rs 3,146. Tata Motors and Maruti are up over 2% each to Rs 901 and Rs 953, respectively.

Reliance has moved up 2% to Rs 1,166. Tata Steel, Reliance Communications, Grasim, SBI and Hindalco are the other major gainers.

HLL has dropped 1.5% to Rs 232.

Out of 2,529 stocks traded so far, 1,374 have advanced, 1,088 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
