Sensex up 180pts; Bajaj, Cipla slip

The Sensex is now up 180 points at 11,493.

HDFC Bank has rallied 5.5% to Rs 850. Hero Honda has surged 3.7% to Rs 707.

Ranbaxy, Larsen & Toubro and BHEL have gained over 3% each to Rs 405, Rs 2,378 and Rs 2,245, respectively.

ONGC has moved up 2.5% to Rs 1,243. Reliance and Tata Motors added 2% each to Rs 1,050 and Rs 817, respectively.

Hindalco and Satyam are up 1.8% each to Rs 170 and Rs 788, respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Cipla have slipped nearly 1% each to Rs 2,758 and Rs 248, respectively.

Out of 2,549 stocks traded so far, 1,872 have advanced, 629 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
