The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 153 points at 9,316. The index has touched a high of 9,363, and a low of 9,280 in morning trades so far. The index is now up 182 points at 9,344.
Sterlite has soared 7.7% to Rs 269, and DLF has surged over 7% to Rs 237.
Grasim has gained 6.5% at Rs 1,028. Jaiprakash Associates has moved up 5% to Rs 72.
Reliance Communications, Tata Steel and Hindalco have rallied around 4.5% each to Rs 216, Rs 204 and Rs 53, respectively.
Reliance and Wipro have advanced 3.5% each to Rs 1,159 and Rs 247, respectively.
Tata Motors has slipped over 2% to Rs 149, and Tata Motors has shed 1% at Rs 494.
