The Sensex is now up 182 points at 9,273.
Tata Motors has soared nearly 6% to Rs 139. Reliance Infrastructure and Grasim have surged nearly 5% each to Rs 545 and Rs 1,390, respectively.
TCS has rallied 4.7% to Rs 505. ICICI Bank, Ranbaxy and DLF have moved up around 3.5% each to Rs 405, Rs 216 and Rs 144, respectively.
Reliance and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced over 3% each to Rs 1,327 and Rs 275, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has gained 2.8% at Rs 70. Wipro and Tata Steel have added 2.5% each to Rs 225 and Rs 186, respectively.
SBI, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Infosys, NTPC and BHEL are up around 2% each.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,310 stocks traded so far, 1,397 have advanced, 818 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
