Sensex up 183pts; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex is now up 183 points at 15,305.

NTPC has soared 3.7% to Rs 172. Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti have surged around 3% each to Rs 697 and Rs 858, respectively.

Tata Motors and Reliance have rallied 2.8% each to Rs 701 and Rs 1,959, respectively.

ONGC and Reliance Energy have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 859 and Rs 785, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Steel have moved up over 2% each to Rs 387, Rs 207 and Rs 671, respectively.

SBI has advanced 1.6% to Rs 1,598. Wipro, ICICI Bank, TCS, BHEL, Cipla, Grasim and Bajaj Auto are up over 1% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,288 stocks traded so far, 1,546 have advanced, 706 have declined and 36 are unchanged.
