Sensex up 183pts; SBI soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 183 points at 13,178.

SBI has rallied 3.5% to Rs 1,221. Gujarat Ambuja and Reliance Communications has surged over 3% each to Rs 135 and Rs 416, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 592, Rs 1,056 and Rs 825, respectively.

ACC, Satyam and Reliance have gained 2% each at Rs 993, Rs 450 and Rs 1,231, respectively.

ONGC has shed 1.5% to Rs 793. Tata Steel, Cipla and Hero Honda are down over 1% each to Rs 435, Rs 238 and Rs 717, respectively.

Out of 2,338 stocks traded so far, 1,274 have advanced, 1,006 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
