Sensex up 186pts; HDFC soars 6%

The Sensex is now up 186 points at 13,968.

HDFC has soared 5.6% to Rs 1,685. Bajaj Auto has rallied 3.5% to Rs 2,654.

ITC and Tatat Steel have surged over 3% each to Rs 166 and Rs 579, respectively.

Wipro has gained 2.5% at Rs 563. Hindalco and HDFC Bank have advanced over 2% each to Rs 148 and Rs 1,018, respectively.

SBI and Reliance Communications have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 1,144 and Rs 472, respectively. Satyam has added 1.6% to Rs 460.

Out of 2,261 stocks traded so far, 1,574 have advanced, 626 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
