Sensex up 186pts; HLL, Tata Steel surge 3%

The Sensex is now up 186 points at 13,982.

SBI has soared 5% to Rs 1,208. HLL and Tata Steel have surged 2.8% each to Rs 191 and Rs 584, respectively.

ONGC, ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications and Cipla have rallied over 2% each to Rs 907, Rs 867, Rs 488 and Rs 209, respectively.

HDFC, Gujarat Ambuja and BHEL are the other major gainers.

Dr.Reddy's has plunged 4% to Rs 656. Hero Honda has shed 1.6% at Rs 693, and Bajaj Auto has slipped 1.4% to Rs 2,680.

Out of 2,082 stocks traded so far, 1,511 have advanced, 508 have declined and 63 are unchanged.
