Sensex up 187pts; Satyam, Maruti weak

The Sensex is now up 187 points at 16,111.

The NSE Nifty is up 63 points at 4,863.

DLF has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 741. Larsen & Toubro has soared 7% to Rs 2,919, and Bajaj Auto has surged 5.7% to Rs 2,098.

ACC has rallied nearly 5% to Rs 805, and NTPC has gained 4% at Rs 193.

Ambuja Cements and Ranbaxy have moved up 3% each to Rs 124 and Rs 445, respectively.

ONGC and Reliance have added 2.5% each to Rs 993 and Rs 2,326, respectively.

Satyam has plunged 3.5% to Rs 394. Maruti has shed 2.7% at Rs 869.

Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and HDFC have slipped around 2% each to Rs 785, Rs 660 and Rs 2,518, respectively.

Cipla, Wipro, Hindalco and ICICI Bank are down around 1.5% each.

Out of 2,680 stocks traded so far, 1,974 have advanced, 667 have declined and 39 are unchanged.
