Sensex up 187pts; SBI, Infosys gain 2%

The Sensex is now up 187 points at 14,190.

Tata Steel and HDFC have soared 3.3% each to Rs 615 and Rs 1,808, respectively.

SBI, BHEL, ACC, Ranbaxy, Hindalco and Infosys have rallied around 2% each to Rs 1,319, Rs 1,340, Rs 815, Rs 371, Rs 164 and Rs 2,022, respectively.

Grasim and Bharti Airtel have moved 1.7% each to Rs 2,405 and Rs 810, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Dr.Reddy's, Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Energy are the other major gainers.

Hero Honda has slipped over 2% to Rs 680.

Out of 2,456 stocks traded so far, 1,669 have advanced, 706 have declined and 81 are unchanged.
