Sensex up 188pts; HDFC Bank stands firm

The Sensex is now up 188 points at 12,392.

HDFC Bank has rallied 4% to Rs 929. Infosys has surged 3.5% to Rs 1,865.

Reliance Communications has gained nearly 3% at Rs 349. SBI has advnaced 2.5% to Rs 1,041.

Wipro, Tata Motors, Satyam, Larsen & Toubro, Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja are up over 2% each.

Out of 2,511 stocks traded so far, 1,881 have advanced, 561 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
