Sensex up 189pts; ACC surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 189 points at 18,237.

The Nifty is up 66 points at 5,343.

ACC has soared 3.5% to Rs 783. Ranbaxy and ONGC have surged 2.5% each to Rs 406 and Rs 1,045, respectively.

Tata Motors has rallied 2% to Rs 747. Grasim and ICICI Bank have have advanced 1.8% each to Rs 2,838 and Rs 1,229, respectively.

Reliance, TCS and Cipla have moved up over 1.5% each to Rs 2,592, Rs 865 and Rs 188, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,455 stocks traded so far, 1,734 have advanced, 652 have declined and 69 are unchanged.
