Sensex up 189pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 189 points at 15,311.

Mahindra & Mahindra has zoomed 5.3% to Rs 711. NTPC and Maruti have soared 4% each to Rs 173 and Rs 867, respectively.

Tata Motors has rallied 3.8% to Rs 707. Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Steel have surged around 3% each to Rs 390, Rs 209 and Rs 676, respectively.

Reliance and ONGC have gained 2.3% each at Rs 1,953 and Rs 857, respectively. SBI has moved up 2% to Rs 1,605.

Out of 2,648 stocks traded so far, 1,623 have advanced, 947 have declined and 78 are unchanged.
