Sensex up 189pts; Dr.Reddy's, RCL rally

The Sensex is now up 189 points at 10,405.

Dr.Reddy's and Reliance Communications (RCL) have rallied 4% each to Rs 1,310 and Rs 250, respectively.

HDFC, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have advanced 3% each to Rs 1,110, Rs 751 and Rs 531, respectively.

Tata Steel, NTPC, HLL and Hindalco have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 492, Rs 110, Rs 234 and Rs 159, respectively.

ACC, Cipla, Tata Motors, Maruti, ITC, Grasim, TCS, Gujarat Ambuja, Larsen & Toubro and Wipro are the other prominent gainers.
