Sensex up 189pts; Infosys gains 3.5%

The Sensex is now up 189 points at 12,393.

HDFC Bank has rallied over 4% to Rs 929. Infosys has surged 3.5% to Rs 1,868.

Reliance Communications has gained 3% at Rs 350. SBI and Wipro have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 1,041 and Rs 521, respectively.

Satyam, Tata Steel, Grasim, Tata Motors and Cipla are the other major gainers.

Out of 2,487 stocks traded so far, 1,887 have advanced, 529 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
