Sensex up 18pts; market breadth positive

The Sensex is now up 18 points at 11,495.

Cipla has surged 2.5% to Rs 250. Ranbaxy has added 1.5% to Rs 411, and Dr.Reddy's is up over 1% at Rs 1,506.

Maruti and Tata Motors have advanced around 2% each to Rs 837 and Rs 852, respectively. Bajaj Auto is up 1% at Rs 2,746.

ACC has spurted 1.5% to Rs 903. HLL and TCS have gained 1% each at Rs 238 and Rs 968, respectively.

Hindalco has dropped 2.3% to Rs 161. HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 836.

Reliance Energy, Tata Steel and Reliance Communications are down around 1% each to Rs 458, Rs 514 and Rs 291, respectively.

The market breadth is slightly positive - out of 2,167 stocks traded so far, 1,134 have advanced, 974 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
