Sensex up 19 pts, Tisco rises

The markets, after a steady volatility in the opening bell, has registered gains following gains in select old and new economy stocks. Although the market sentiment is cautious ahead of the RIL board meeting to be scheduled today, the Sensex is up 19 points at 6,517.

Infosys is up Rs 5 at Rs 2,068. While Satyam is marginally up at Rs 409, Wipro is trading lower by Rs 2 at Rs 755.

SBI is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 612, and Tisco has firmed up 3.27% (Rs 12) to Rs 371.

L&T has moved up nearly 2% (Rs 17) to Rs 992, and HPCL has added 1.68% (Rs 6) to Rs 391.

ACC is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 324. Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja are also trading with steady gains at Rs 1,290 and Rs 396, respectively.

Reliance (down Rs 7 to Rs 517) has pared some losses from its sharp slide in early trades. While ITC is trading with a marginal loss of Rs 3 at Rs 1,295, HLL is up a rupee at Rs 145.

Bharti has inched lower by 1.34% (Rs 3) to Rs 206.
