Sensex up 193pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 193 points at 17,844.

The NSE Nifty is up 77 points at 5,278.

Reliance Energy has soared 5.4% to Rs 1,710, and Grasim has soared 4.8% to Rs 3,036.

BHEL has surged 4.6% to Rs 2,181. Infosys has rallied over 3% to Rs 1,664.

HDFC Bank has advanced 2.5% to Rs 1,459, and Hindustan Unilever has added 2% to Rs 220.

ACC and ONGC are up around 1.5% each at Rs 832 and Rs 1,029, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has slipped 1.3% to Rs 840.

Out of 2,771 stocks traded so far, 1,666 have advanced, 1,028 have declined and 77 are unchanged.
