Sensex up 194pts; NTPC, Maruti up 4%

The Sensex is now up 194 points at 15,316.

Mahindra & Mahindra has zoomed 5% to Rs 709. NTPC and Maruti have soared 3.8% each to Rs 172 and Rs 866, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Motors have rallied around 3.5% each to Rs 391, Rs 210 and Rs 705, respectively.

Tata Steel has surged 2.5% to Rs 674. Reliance, SBI and ONGC are up around 2% each at Rs 1,950, Rs 1,604 and Rs 854, respectively.

Hindalco has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 157.

Out of 2,672 stocks traded so far, 1,574 have advanced, 1,023 have declined and 75 are unchanged.
