Sensex up 194pts; technology stocks rally

The Sensex is now up 194 points at 17,811.

The NSE Nifty is up 69 points at 5,223.

Technology stocks are witnessing smart buying. Satyam has zoomed 5% to Rs 444. TCS has soared 4% to Rs 920. Infosys and Wipro have surged over 3% each to Rs 1,617 and Rs 424, respectively.

Hindalco has rallied 4.7% to Rs 185, and Tata Steel has gained 3.7% at Rs 801.

Reliance Energy, Mahindra & Mahindra and NTPC have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,610, Rs 648 and Rs 202, respectively.

Grasim has moved up 2% to Rs 2,892. Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever have gained 1.8% each at Rs 118, Rs 719 and Rs 218, respectively.

HDFC has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 2,702, and BHEL has shed 1.4% at Rs 2,095.
