Sensex up 196pts; BHEL, ICICI slip

The Sensex is now up 196 points at 17,813.

The NSE Nifty is up 73 points at 5,227.

Hindalco has soared 4.4% to Rs 185, and Satyam has surged over 4% to Rs 440.

Tata Steel has rallied 3.5% to Rs 800, and TCS has moved up 2.8% to Rs 909.

Infosys has gained 2.4% at Rs 1,606. Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Grasim and Hindustan Unilever have advanced over 2% each to Rs 420, Rs 648, Rs 2,896 and Rs 218, respectively.

ACC, NTPC and HDFC Bank are up nearly 2% each to Rs 780, Rs 202 and Rs 1,562, respectively.

BHEL has slipped 1.5% to Rs 2,093, and ICICI Bank is down over 1% at Rs 1,153.
