Sensex up 197pts in early trades; RCom, Bharti shine

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 263 points at 9,799, and is now up 197 points at 9,733.

Jaiprakash Assocaites has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 82. Reliance Communications has soared 5.5% to Rs 228.

Reliance Infrastructure and Bharti Airtel have surged over 5% each to Rs 569 and Rs 663, respectively.

Sterlite, DLF, Satyam and ICICI Bank have rallied around 4.5% each to Rs 248, Rs 256, Rs 277 and Rs 416, respectively.

SBI and Tata Steel have moved up 4% each to Rs 1,224 and Rs 192, respectively. ONGC has added 3.7% to Rs 738.

Tata Power and Hindalco have gained 3.3% each at Rs 756 and Rs 58, respectively.

 

Infosys, however, has slipped 2% to Rs 1,233.
