The market, after a cautious opening, has settled into the green in mid-morning trades. Upmove in select heavyweights, tech, banking and other old economy stocks has lifted the gains of the index to a high of 6,683. The Sensex, in current trades, is up 20 points at 6,676. The Nifty has added six points to 2,071. Reliance has gained a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 534. ITC at Rs 1,568 (up Rs 8) and ONGC at Rs 926 (up Rs 2) are unchanged with steady gains. Wipro has advanced 1.32% (Rs 9) to Rs 710, and Infosys is up with a steady gain of Rs 10 at Rs 2,211. Satyam is up Rs 2 at Rs 454. SBI has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 6) to Rs 661. HDFC Bank (up Rs 3 to Rs 542) and ICICI Bank (up Rs 2 to Rs 394) are trading with modest gains. Reliance Energy has moved up 1.89% (Rs 10) to Rs 523. While Hindalco has added 1.29% (Rs 14) to Rs 1,093, Zee has jumped 2.45% (Rs 3) to Rs 144. Gujarat Ambuja has scaled down 1.37% (Rs 6) to Rs 442, and Grasim is down Rs 5 at Rs 1,107. Dr. Reddy's and Cipla are trading on a lacklustre note at Rs 732 and Rs 288, respectively. Ranbaxy, however, is trading with a steady gain of Rs 4 at Rs 1,088. |
