Sensex up 200pts; Maruti zooms 5%

The Sensex rallied to a high of 10,302, and is now up 200 points at 10,271.

Maruti has zoomed nearly 5% to Rs 714. Tata Motors and ONGC have surged 3.8% each to Rs 769 and Rs 1,116, respectively.

Tata Steel has spurted over 3% to Rs 505. BHEL and Hindalco have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 1,956 and Rs 171, respectively.

HDFC has advanced 2.5% to Rs 1,140. Grasim, HDFC Bank and Satyam are up over 2% each at Rs 1,745, Rs 756 and Rs 672, respectively.

NTPC (Rs 112) Reliance (Rs 944), TCS (Rs 1,745) and ACC (Rs 755) have gained 2% each.

Reliance Energy and Tata Power have shed 1.7% each to Rs 460 and Rs 476, respectively. Dr.Reddy's has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,305.

The market breadth continues to remain negative - out of 1,778 stocks traded so far, 1,309 have declined, 433 have advanced and 36 are unchanged.
