Sensex up 200pts; SBI, HDFC Bank shine

The Sensex is now up 200 points at 12,404.

HDFC Bank has rallied 4.4% to Rs 932. Reliance Communications and SBI have surged 2.5% each to Rs 349 and Rs 1,041, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Grasim, Infosys and Cipla have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,262, Rs 2,545, Rs 1,841 and Rs 258, respectively.

Tata Steel, Tata Motors, TCS, ICICI Bank, Satyam, Wipro, HDFC, HLL and ONGC are the other significant gainers.

Out of 2,390 stocks traded so far, 1,886 have advanced, 442 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
