Sensex up 208pts; ACC surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 208 points at 18,256.

The Nifty is up 70 points at 5,346.

ACC has soared 4.4% to Rs 789. Ranbaxy and TCS have surged 2.7% each to Rs 407 and Rs 875, respectively.

ONGC has rallied 2.5% to Rs 1,046. Wipro, Grasim, Reliance and Cipla have advanced 2% each to Rs 423, Rs 2,843, Rs 2,603 and Rs 188, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, Tata Motors and HDFC have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 221, Rs 746 and Rs 2,950, respectively.

Satyam, NTPC, BHEL and ICICI Bank are up around 1.5% each at Rs 432, Rs 208, Rs 2,250 and Rs 1,226, respectively.

Out of 2,651 stocks traded so far, 1,928 have advanced, 665 have declined and 58 are unchanged.
