Sensex up 20pts; NTPC, Cipla down 2%

The Sensex slipped into red to a low of 17,725 - down 258 points from the new peak of 17,983. The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 20 points at 17,793.

HDFC Bank has rallied over 2% to Rs 1,430.

BHEL and HDFC have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 2,188 and Rs 2,490, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Satyam and Grasim are up around 1% each at Rs 1,004, Rs 449 and Rs 3,576, respectively.

NTPC and Cipla have dropped around 2% each to Rs 210 and Rs 185, respectively.

ICICI Bank, ITC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ambuja Cements and ONGC are the other prominent losers.
