Sensex up 20pts; Ranbaxy surges 3%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 20 points at 13,962.

Ranbaxy has flared up 3% to Rs 410. Bajaj Auto has rallied 2.7% to Rs 2,814.

Gujarat Ambuja has gained 1.8% at Rs 147, and Maruti has moved up 1.5% to Rs 984.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 1,478 and Rs 942, respectively. NTPC is up 1% at Rs 140.

HLL has shed 1.4% to Rs 214. HDFC, ACC and Tata Steel are down over 1% each to Rs 1,600, Rs 1,080 and Rs 474, respectively.

Out of 2,529 stocks traded so far 1,503 have moved up, 964 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
