Sensex up 212pts; ACC, Ambuja Cem weak

The Sensex is now up 212 points at 16,843.

The NSE Nifty is up 60 points at 4,917.

Reliance has surged over 5% to Rs 2,392.

Cipla and ICICI Bank have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 191 and Rs 1,062, respectively.

Tata Steel has advanced 2.2% to Rs 742, and BHEL has added 1.7% to Rs 1,930.

SBI, Bharti Airtel and ONGC have gained over 1% each at Rs 2,070, Rs 859 and Rs 952, respectively.

Grasim, Wipro and Hindalco are up over 1% each at Rs 2,766, Rs 428 and Rs 155, respectively.

TCS has slumped 3.5% to Rs 872, and Satyam has shed 1.6% at Rs 417.

ACC has tumbled 2.7% to Rs 718, and Ambuja Cements has dropped 2.5% to Rs 112.

Mahindra & Mahindra is down over 1% at Rs 590.

Out of 2,630 stocks traded so far, 2,116 have declined, 478 have advanced and 36 are unchanged.
