Sensex up 217pts; ONGC gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 217 points at 15,967.

The NSE Nifty is up 69 points at 4,823.

Wipro has zoomed over 5% to Rs 436. Satyam has soared nearly 4% to Rs 423. TCS has surged 3.3% to Rs 879, and Infosys has gained 2.2% at Rs 1,515.

Hindalco and ONGC have rallied 3.7% each to Rs 173 and Rs 1,048, respectively.

Tata Steel has moved up nearly 3% to Rs 665. Reliance has added 2.8% to Rs 2,409.

Hindustan Unilever and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced around 2% each to Rs 241 and Rs 237, respectively.

Maruti has dropped 2.7% to Rs 791. BHEL and Reliance Energy have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,811 and Rs 1,205, respectively.

Cipla and Tata Motors are down 1% each at Rs 217 and Rs 632, respectively.
