Sensex up 218pts; breadth very +ve

The Sensex is now up 218 points at 13,074.

Tata Steel has surged 4% to Rs 484. SBI has soared 3.3% to Rs 980.

Infosys has rallied 2.5% to Rs 2,042. TCS, Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank, Grasim, Tata Motors and BHEL have advanced around 2% each to Rs 1,220, Rs 406, Rs 856, Rs 2,154, Rs 700 and Rs 2,404, respectively.

HDFC Bank, HLL, ACC, Ranbaxy, Reliance Energy, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco, Wipro, Maruti, Hero Honda and Larsen & Toubro are the other major gainers.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 1,880 stocks traded so far, 1,467 have moved up, 378 have declined and 35 are unchanged.
