Sensex up 21pts; ONGC gains 3%

A fresh round of selling saw the Sensex slide to a low of 9387. The index is now up 21 points at 9402.

ONGC has surged 3% to Rs 1,218.

ICICI Bank is up 1.4% at Rs 586. Gujarat Ambuja and Bajaj Auto are up 1.2% each at Rs 89.25 and Rs 2,015, respectively.

HDFC has declined 1.7% to Rs 1,179. HDFC Bank has dropped 1.2% to Rs 736.

TCS has shed 1.4% to Rs 1,656, and Satyam is down 1% at Rs 740.

Out of 2,566 stocks traded so far, 1,476 have gained, 1,008 have slipped and the rest are unmoved.
