Sensex up 220pts; Hind Unilever, ITC weak

The Sensex is now up 220 points at 20,058.

The Nifty is up 80 points at 5981.

Larsen & Toubro has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 4,577. BHEL has soared 4% to Rs 2,717.

HDFC Bank has surged 3.5% to Rs 1,711. ICICI Bank, Reliance Energy and SBI have rallied nearly 2.5% each to Rs 1,288, Rs 1,911 and Rs 2,116, respectively.

ONGC has gained 2% at Rs 1,274. Hindalco and NTPC have moved up 1.6% each to Rs 200 and Rs 243, respectively.

Tata Steel has advanced 1.4% to Rs 917. Reliance Communications and Infosys are up 1% each at Rs 780 and Rs 1,857, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 4.4% to Rs 962. Hindustan Unilever has dropped 2.3% to Rs 203.

ITC has declined 1.8% to Rs 176, and Maruti is down 1.3% at Rs 1,060.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,479 stocks traded so far, 1,459 have advanced, 952 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
