Sensex up 223pts; Rel Energy zooms 10%

The Sensex is now up 223 points at 19,585.

Reliance Energy has zoomed over 10% to Rs 1,914. Wipro has soared 6.7% to Rs 491.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 4.7% to Rs 766, and TCS has surged 4.4% to Rs 1,059.

Hindalco has advanced nearly 4% to Rs 193. BHEL has gained almost 3% at Rs 2,758.

Bajaj Auto has moved up 2.7% to Rs 2,782. Maruti and Reliance have added 2.5% each to Rs 1,038 and Rs 2,922, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Tata Steel, Satyam and NTPC are the other major gainers.

ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,165 and Rs 924, respectively.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,693, and HDFC is down over 1% at Rs 2,750.

Out of 2,806 stocks traded so far, 2,134 have advanced, 611 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
