Sensex up 223pts; Tata Steel soars 4%

The Sensex opened with a huge positive gap of 89 points at 11,963. The index zoomed to touch a high of 12,121, and is now up 223 points at 12,097.

Tata Steel has soared over 4% to Rs 597. Hindalco has rallied 3.3% to Rs 222.

Hero Honda has zoomed over 3% to Rs 877. Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 3,209 and Rs 953, respectively.

ITC has surged over 3% to Rs 201. Reliance has moved up 2.8% to Rs 1,072.

ICICI Bank has advanced 3% to Rs 632. Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have added 2.5% each to Rs 596 and Rs 2,693, respectively.

There is not a single loser among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 1,692 stocks traded so far, 1,473 have advanced, 197 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
