The upmove has gathered strength and the Sensex is now up 225 points at 9,959.
Hindalco has zoomed 11.5% to Rs 63. Reliance Infrastructure has soared 6% to Rs 536.
Jaiprakash Assocaites, Reliance and Tata Power have rallied around 4% each to Rs 87, Rs 1,218 and Rs 746, respectively.
NTPC has moved up 3.7% to Rs 150. ACC, HDFC, TCS and Reliance Communications have advanced over 3% each to Rs 480, Rs 1,710, Rs 516 and Rs 223, respectively.
ICICI Bank has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 426.
