Sensex up 228pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex is now up 228 points at 15,320.

Hindalco has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 177. ACC and Ambuja Cements have soared over 3.5% each to Rs 1,112 and Rs 131, respectively.

BHEL, Reliance and ITC have surged around 3% each to Rs 1,691, Rs 1,769 and Rs 157, respectively.

Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro have rallied over 2% each to Rs 756 and Rs 2,428, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 818 and Rs 2,869, respectively.

TCS and Hindustan Unilever have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 1,140 and Rs 202, respectively.

Out of 2,626 stocks traded so far, 1,403 have advanced, 1,141 have declined and 82 are unchanged.
