Sensex up 228pts; Maruti zooms 4%

The Sensex is now up 228 points at 11,875.

Cipla stands still with at Rs 261 - up 5.4%. ONGC has surged 5% to Rs 1,388. HDFC is up 3.2% at Rs 1,295.

Maruti has zoomed nearly 4% to Rs 900. Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors have rallied 3% each to Rs 2,920 and Rs 943, respectively.

Grasim, Infosys, Tata Steel and Wipro have advanced over 2.5% each.

Out of 2,467 stocks traded so far, 1,590 have advanced, 813 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
