Sensex up 229pts; Maruti rallies 4%

The Sensex is now up 229 points at 10,645.

ONGC has soared 4% to Rs 1,137. Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have surged over 3.5% each to Rs 258 and Rs 383, respectively.

Maruti has rallied 3.6% to Rs 767. Tata Motors and Ranbaxy have added 3.3% each to Rs 725 and Rs 368, respectively.

HDFC, Hindalco and HLL are up 3% each at Rs 1,132, Rs 163 and Rs 241, respectively.

Out of 2,434 stocks traded so far, 1,669 have advanced, 680 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
