Sensex up 22pts; NTPC slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 22 points at 13,421.

TCS and Infosys have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 1,103 and Rs 2,213, respectively. ONGC and Satyam have surged 1.5% each to Rs 885 and Rs 432, respectively.

ICICI Bank has advanced 1.3% to Rs 852, and HDFC Bank is up 1% at Rs 1,066.

HLL, Hindalco and NTPC have dropped around 2% each to Rs 247, Rs 178 and Rs 135, respectively.

Grasim and Cipla have slipped nearly 1.5% each to Rs 2,669 and Rs 265, respectively. Tata Steel and BHEL are down 1% each at Rs 492 and Rs 2,455, respectively.

Out of 2,589 stocks traded so far, 1,594 have declined, 934 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
