Sensex up 230pts; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex is now up 230 points at 18,756.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 5% to Rs 1,688. DLF has soared 4% to Rs 855.

NTPC has surged 3.7% to Rs 236, and Larsen & Toubro has rallied 3.4% to Rs 4,075.

Tata Motors has gained 3% at Rs 713. BHEL has moved up 1.3% to Rs 2,542.

HDFC has advanced 2% to Rs 2,610, and ACC has added 1.8% to Rs 1,123.

Bajaj Auto, Maruti and Infosys are the other prominent gainers.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,472 stocks traded so far, 1,738 have advanced, 682 have declined and 52 are unchanged.
