Sensex up 230pts; Maruti, L&T surge

The Sensex is now up 230 points at 11,891.

Maruti has rallied 3.6% to Rs 955. Larsen & Toubro has surged 3.3% to Rs 2,537.

HLL and SBI have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 236 and Rs 958, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, Bharti Airtel, Satyam, Bajaj Auto, Cipla and BHEL are up over 2.5% each at Rs 731, Rs 435, Rs 804, Rs 2,777, Rs 256 and Rs 2,285, respectively.

All index stocks continue to rule in the positive zone.

Out of 2,440 stocks traded so far, 1,754 have advanced, 613 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
