Sensex up 235pts; Cipla zooms 4%

The Sensex is now up 235 points at 19,973.

Cipla has soared 4% to Rs 197. NTPC has surged 3.3% to Rs 252.

ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 1,193 and Rs 794, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, ITC and Infosys have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 4,384, Rs 196 and Rs 1,631, respectively.

SBI, HDFC, ONGC and Ranbaxy have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 2,419, Rs 2,780, Rs 1,223 and Rs 399, respectively.

Hindalco has slipped 1.4% to Rs 197.
