HDFC has soared 4.5% to Rs 2,842. Tata Steel has surged 3.5% to Rs 805.
DFL has rallied nearly 3% to Rs 688. SBI and ICICI Bank have gained 2.7% each at Rs 1,784 and Rs 919, respectively.
Hindalco has advanced 2.3% to Rs 191. Jaiprakash Associates and Wipro have added 2% each to Rs 257 and Rs 467, respectively.
Ranbaxy, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 487, Rs 2,997 and Rs 2,680, respectively.
Tata Motors, ONGC and Reliance are up around 1.5% each at Rs 643, Rs 1,063 and Rs 2,629, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has shed 2.5% at Rs 904.
Out of 2,554 stocks traded so far, 1,432 have advanced, 1,058 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
