Sensex up 236pts; Rel Comm, Wipro soar 5%

The Sensex is now up 236 points at 19,599.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 9.5% to Rs 1,903. Reliance Communications and Wipro have soared 5.3% each to Rs 711 and Rs 485, respectively.

TCS has surged 3.8% to Rs 1,052. Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied over 3% each to Rs 191 and Rs 754, respectively.

BHEL has moved up 2.8% to Rs 2,755. Reliance and Bajaj Auto have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 2,958 and Rs 2,775, respectively.

ICICI Bank has dropped 2% to Rs 1,162. HDFC and Bharti Airtel have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 2,738 and Rs 923, respectively.

HDFC Bank is down 1.3% at Rs 1,696.

Out of 2,839 stocks traded so far, 2,073 have advanced, 698 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
