The Sensex is now up 237 points at 10,903. After opening with a positive gap of 69 points at 10,735, the index has surged to a high of 11,051. Tata Steel has zoomed over 6% to Rs 546. HDFC has advanced 5.5% to Rs 1,216, and Cipla has spurted over 5% to Rs 235. Bajaj Auto and Larsen & Toubro have rallied nearly 5% each to Rs 2,922 and Rs 2,405, respectively. BHEL and Infosys are up nearly 4% each at Rs 1,976 and Rs 2,943, respectively. The market breadth is still extremely positive - out of 2,418 stocks traded so far, 1,898 have advanced, 472 have declined and 48 are unchanged. |
