Sensex up 238pts; tech stocks firm

The Sensex is now up 238 points at 16,392.

The NSE Nifty is up 65 points at 4,945.

Reliance Energy has soared 4.5% to Rs 1,360.

Infosys has surged 4% to Rs 1,573. Wipro and Satyam have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 437 and Rs 464, respectively. TCS has added 2.3% to Rs 998.

Ranbaxy and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 494 and Rs 224, respectively.

DLF has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 629. Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro have gained 1.7% each at Rs 529, Rs 821 and Rs 2,855, respectively.

Reliance, SBI, HDFC and Hindalco are the other major gainers.
