Sensex up 23pts; ACC soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 23 points at 13,868.

ACC has saored over 4% (Rs 47) to Rs 1,179. Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja are up over 1% each at Rs 2,790 and Rs 145, respectively.

Tata Motors has rallied over 4% to Rs 878. Maruti has gained 1.5% at Rs 966.

Reliance Energy has surged over 3% to Rs 558, and NTPC has advanced over 2% to Rs 151. Larsen & Toubro has added 2.2% to Rs 1,410.

Satyam has shed 2.5% to Rs 455, and Wipro has slipped 1.7% to Rs 591.

HDFC Bank has dropped 1.7% to Rs 1,102. HDFC has declined over 1% to Rs 1,625. Hero Honda is down 1.5% at Rs 761.

Out of 2,485 stocks traded so far, 1,496 have advanced, 920 have declined and 69 are unchanged.
