Sensex up 23pts in early trade

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 28 points. The index touched a high of 11,704, and then slipped into the negative zone to touch a low of 11,702.

The index is now up 23 points at 11,730.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.6% to Rs 402. Wipro has gained 1% at Rs 530.

HDFC, Bajaj Auto and Reliance Energy are the other smart gainers.

Tata Steel has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 513.
